Richard James "Rick" Cosnett (born 6 April 1983) is an Zimbabwe-born Australian actor. He is known for playing the role of Wes Maxfield in The Vampire Diaries and Eddie Thawne in The Flash. He is a cousin of Hugh Grant. Although his character in ''The Vampire Diaries (2009)'' is implied to be many years older than Shaun Sipos' character and acts as his legal guardian, he is in fact two years younger than Sipos in real life. Rick is a former housemate of Kelly Durnell and Brooke Mickan, who together adopted a cat.
